Mike Pert (Club President) -
Mike first started playing war games way back when the old queen was still on the throne! Mike, with Jerry Marshall and Heath Barnes established the CWC in 1997 and has steadily watched it grow from strength to strength. Mike has been Club President for the past years and is well loved by all. Mike is a friendly but challenging opponent who enjoys playing many of the clubs well known game systems. At present Mike is commanding an American Airborne and German Grenadier armies for FOW (Mike’s game of choice!).

Andy Culham (Club Secretary  & Website) -
Andy has been playing war games since the age of eight. Rachel Pert

(Website & My Space) -

Rachel joined the CWC in 2000 and has the unenviable task of being the only female member of the club. Consequently Rachel can be found (when she is not playing) making sure the rest of us are behaving. Rachel is an accomplished painter and scenery maker and has created many memorable gaming tables and miniatures. Rachel likes the more specialist games (Blood Bowl, Mordheim, Warmaster Ancients, Warmaster)  Rachel has won a number of awards for her painting . Rachel is married to Mike (a difficult job on its own) and is mother to Genevieve and Bethan. When Rachel isn’t being a mum and gamer, she can be found enjoying and practicing holistic therapies, rubbing her ‘hippie magic rocks’, listening to music and being an artist.

Oh, and she like Johnny Depp!!

Scott has beena member of the CWC for 5 years now challenging other members to some memorable games of FOW, Warhammer,  and recently has taken on the leadership of the British Barbarians in Warmaster Ancients. Scott is great fun to play and has a wicked sense of humour. Scott lives in Cheltenham is a big fan of sport and Falkirk Town fanatic. Scott also has a keen interested in history, which he brings to his games and his opponents.  He is one of the leading members in the club historical gaming side along with Andy and Graham and loves the Russians in his FOW and is set to do them in Napoleonics aswell

Carl plays Warcraft, but we don’t hold that against him! Carl is one of the hobbies nicest players. A true gentleman! (no…honest!)

Pete Thomas -

Pete first joined the club five years ago and is an avid Warhammer and Warhammer 40k player fielding Dark Elves and Tyranids. Pete is one of the club’s nicest players and although isn’t able to attend regularily (due to studying) he is always welcome. Pete is presently a student studying MA Marine Biology at Essex University (SWOT).

James is a fun player who enjoys the game for the games sake (a rare commodity these days). James is a student and lives at home in Cheltenham .

luke1.jpg

Luke Rothwell
Luke has been playing wargames since his fist bought a box of Airfix U.S.Paratroops in a local model shop at the age of 12, and became hooked with the release of 2nd Edition 40K in 1993. Doug McMillan
As a child in the 60's I grew up with Airfix figures; collecting,
painting and gaming with them. Then as a teenager in the 70's I got into board wargaming. I drifted away from the hobby when I joined the Army in 1979 and after 6 years in the Royal Signals I end up in Cheltenham, and have worked in I.T. for the last 20+ years. When my 7 year old son started taking an interest in Warhammer this sparked my interest in the hobby again, after 30 years away! Wondering where to start I came across the Warchiefs who have me feel right at home

rich.jpg

Richard Lang
Began Playing as a tiddly-wink but took 10 year r&r to travel, study and generally gather hair, but is now back in the game. Collecting: WFB Bretonnians, a British Napoleoninc FoW army and RoE WW2 Brits/Russians/Germans/Americans with enough tanks to shake a box of them at someone lacking in tanks whilst jeering "I know someone with more tanks than you!". Whilst Rich tends only to do this occasionally, the War-chiefs are kind enough to overlook this vice as his lack of gaming tactics allow opponents to notch up points in the club league.

richard.jpg

Richard Burdett (Club Tresurer) -

Richard is an accomplished player and painter and one of the clubs greatest assets. Richard has won many gaming and painting competitions most notably for his Bretonnian (featured in Games Workshop Bretonnian Collectors Guide) and Wood Elves armies. Other hobbies include BEER, Rugby, Swimming, watching far to many Sci-Fi shows, oh and more BEER! (not that he can hold his ale - ask anyone!!)

john1.jpg

John Harrison -

John is one of the longest serving members of the CWC and been playing since he was 12 years old; he’s 24 now so you can do the maths. John can be found playing WHFB, 40K, Blood bowl, Warmaster, Warmaster Ancients and Flames of War. The mighty game of blood bowl is his favourite – and why? ‘Well that’s easy, its just pure fun that you can play just about anywhere. My first game was one called Tyranid Attack’. John is a superb opponent and a game with him is challenging but always fun. There is a very responsible side to John. When he is not crushing his enemies he is working for the MOD.

toby1.jpg

Toby Bryant -
Has been a member of the CWC since the beginning wowing the crowds with his expertise of all things Ork and Goblin. Toby is great fun to play and games are always rewarding. He has recently started his Vampire Counts army agai and loves his Hordes army Orberos aswell as Warmachine in general. He is a consistant performer in local and national events usually found around the awards. He has recently got himself engaged to his Girl Friend ( hope she knows what she's let here self in for; poor painting for one)

Robert 'Sedge' Sedgeman -

One of the CWC best players, Sedge has been gaming for over twenty years winning numerous local and national tournaments  with his cunningly crafted armies. Sedge has just discovered Warmaster Ancients and is set to give us a dam good thrashing  Sedge is a superb painter of models and always presents a well-turned out army. Sedge loves competitions and is a fierce opponent with a photographic memory for rule sets (god help us all!!). Sedge is a pleasure to play. Chances are you may loose but you will have learned something along the way.

Sedge is married to Kirsty and they live together with their little boy Oliver in Cheltenham. When Sedge isn’t being a Design Draughtsman he is busily engaged in DIY (Kirsty’s orders!!?) and surfing the net for bargains (Ebay I am sure?).

Dave ‘Kiwi’ Pike -

Dave has been interested in war games for most of his life, seriously playing Warhammer and Blood Bowl for the past 17 years. Nowadays, Dave has a keen interest and passion for Blitzkrieg Commander and Warmaster Ancients due to scale and simplicity factors. Dave is a talented model and scenery maker who has wowed the club with his 10mm scale 2nd World War buildings and scenery and his recent marvel of Mordheim building at Bovi. Dave is also a fervent supporter of Cheltenham Town Football Club and is delighted they're staying up (he’s a season ticket holder!). Dave works at a test lab, testing electronic products, as well as studying towards MSCE in Visual Basic.NET.

martin.jpg

Martin Freshwater -

Martin is a genuinely nice guy, always a pleasure to play. Martin has been playing Warhammer for over twenty years, although took it easy for ten years while he went to university and got married. But the man is back with a vengeance with Warhammer as Martin’s chosen game system, often sporting a Skaven army to challenge you with. Martin lives in Gloucester with his beautiful Gloucestershire wife. Martin is a rabid Chelsea fan  ( Eww) and will talk for hours on the subject to anyone who will listen to him. Nevertheless, we still like him!

graham1.jpg

Graham Fennell (Club Liason) -

Graham has been a member of the CWC for many years and is one of the clubs greatest and oldest blokes. Graham is always a pleasure to play and infects his opponents with the same high levels of enthusiasm for the game as he has. Graham is a dedicated player of the clubs historical systems such as FOW, Blitzkrieg Commander, Warmaster Ancients. That said Graham is partial to the odd game of Starship Troopers and 40k! Graham is married to Anne and has two smashing children. When Graham isn’t throwing his armies at us he is a full time Motor Trimmer (prize available to those who know what this is!), keen paintball protagonist and movie goer (specialist movies apparently!?) e has recently started collecting a French army lead by Bonie

m_c866d83b3e86cce93809b3e5ab360eea.jpg

Chris Czaikowski -
Chris is the club's resident American Colonial and generally bothers everyone else at the club with his loud, over-excited ways. Having been in the hobby since his teens (now nearly 30!) and worked for GW in the past, you would think he would win more games!

Currently Chris is building his long hyped (but never seen...it is real honest!) 28ml Samurai army, but still loyally uses his Warhammer Empire army (unless he wants to win, in which case he uses his Lizardmen) and 40K Eldar army. In total out of a vast collection he has about 5 painted models - one day he might actually paint an army...

m_fb0f023e085ca76e9e8ee90a238e07ba.jpg

Ken Collier
Ken is a fugitive from the Icelandic justice system and lives a quiet life of self sufficiency in rural Gloucestershire. Decades of drinking alcohol made from ingredients foraged from hedgerows has left his brain unable to grapple with advanced rules or the finer points of strategy and tactics. This means his armies are easy prey to the more beardy members of the club. In fact he looks forward to the handicap system being introduced so he can field bigger armies and stand a chance of winning for a change!

me2.JPG

Claire Collier

Claire is one of the newest, and the youngest, member of the CWC. She was introduced to Warhammer by her father, the Icelandic outlaw, but found it difficult to find the time to paint and play her quickly collected Dark Elves army.

Just like Rachel, she likes Johnny Depp, but Orlando Bloom is much much better!!!

img1875.jpg

Lawrence
Has recently joined warchiefs but has been struggling to attend recently he's a keen Empire and Ogre Kingdoms player and loves warhammer as whole. More to come..
